We are looking for experienced nursing professionals to join a dynamic BSN program as full-time or part-time faculty, offering potential leadership growth opportunities. This role is ideal for clinicians who are passionate about education and shaping the next generation of nurses.The Nurse Faculty position for the Nursing, B.S. program is a full or part-time, year-round appointment, reporting directly to the Dean of Nursing. Faculty collaborate with the Dean of Nursing and other Nursing faculty and staff in the academic delivery, outcomes assessment, and improvement/development of the Nursing (full-time and part-time) programs. Full-time faculty maintain a course load of up to 12 teaching/learning credits per semester and are responsible for delivering outlined content material and assessing student learning outcomes and progress through the course.

CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION

  • Teach classes as required by workload (range of courses to be specified), up to 12 teaching/learning credits per semester
  • Provide active and effective learning for students in all applicable educational settings – lecture, lab, clinical – as assigned (range of courses to be specified)
  • Remain active in forward thinking in regard to educational technology trends that support and create educational access and opportunities for students and faculty

FACULTY ADMINISTRATION

  • Participate in committee work at all levels, including department, division, and college
  • Provide academic advisement for assigned students
  • Other duties as assigned

STUDENT AFFAIRS

  • Maintain a classroom/lab environment conducive to learning
  • Participate in student onboarding and orientation with an emphasis on policies and procedures related to laboratory experiences
  • Provide regular and constructive feedback to students regarding academic performance, professionalism, conduct, attendance and other topics as necessary
  • Proactively inform Dean of any student issues or needs for remediation
  • Coordinate with Dean to facilitate the development and completion of remediation plans
  • Attend department and college events

JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a Doctoral Degree (DNP, Phd, EdD, etc.)
  • 10+ years of clinical experience with at least 2 year in a nursing administration/leadership role
  • 5+ years of teaching experience (at least 2 years of lecture, online teaching experience a plus)
  • Must be familiar with LMS systems (we use Canvas, most others use Blackboard, etc.)

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in Nursing
  • 7+ years of clinical experience
  • 3+ years of teaching experience (at least 1 year of lecture experience preferred)

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Ability to concurrently perform multiple tasks.
  • Computer literate.
  • Manual dexterity to use/handle equipment and instruments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
